A GenderCrip Creation Myth

by Audrey T. Carroll

There is no vocation more womanly than suffering,
And so ovaries,
must stay, where The Creator,
intended, lest the womb,

wander.

Life-giving springs must pay for their privileges in blood, and yet the blood of the gods does not drift along winds or streams, almost like
it is a narrative written by those who do not suffer the same fate, those not even allowed to suffer the shames of thinning hair or flaccidity
If a woman loses beauty, cannot perform well, it's easier to replace the model, then tell heroic stories of how you beheaded the Gorgon, rose a Pegasus from her blood, and declared your right to godhood.
